Organize the Catalog Tab

Use these procedures to organize cost items in the Catalog tab. You can:

  • Select the active catalog

  • Switch the Catalog tab layout

  • Collapse all folders in the Catalog tab

By default, the cost items and assemblies will appear in the right half of the Catalog tab, which makes it easier to view folders in the catalog. You can change this view so that the folders appear in the upper half of the tab and the cost items and assemblies stretch across the bottom half of the tab. This makes it easier to view more of the details of the cost items and assemblies.

To open a job in the Manage Estimates screen, click Estimating > Estimating > Manage Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.

You can select the active catalog. Once you select an active catalog, you can edit items in the catalog and send items to the job estimate.

Another basic feature of the Catalog tab enables you to collapse all the folders so that all subfolders are hidden from view. This makes it easy for you to quickly clean up the view.
