Export to StreetSmarts

Use the Estimating Import/Export Tool to export estimate and catalog data to a TXT file that you can use with Viewpoint StreetSmarts.

Before exporting data to StreetSmarts, configure WBS codes for relevant cost items. See WBS and UBS Codes for more information. Estimate items that do not have WBS codes assigned are ignored when the exported file is imported to StreetSmarts.

Before exporting data to StreetSmarts, configure Allocated names to export sales tax, labor burden, and overhead information from financial cost items. You can then use the allocated fields when defining the allocation type of financial cost items. This information can be included in the export. See Allocation of Financial Cost Items Overview for more information.

Tip:
  • Viewpoint recommends renaming unused WBS codes to Bid Item and Task Code and assigning a value for each cost item to be exported. See Select WBS/UBS Code Values for Cost Items for more information.
  • You can either export the cost item vendor or you can rename an unused WBS code to Vendor and assign a value for each cost item to be exported.
  • Viewpoint recommends renaming two unused Allocated names to Sales Tax and Labor Burden and assigning a value for each cost item to be exported. Viewpoint recommends using Allocated (Overhead) to assign overhead values for each cost item to be exported. See Define Estimate Globals for more information.
  • You can quickly review the WBS codes and Allocated values for estimate items by displaying the WBS code columns and the Allocated columns in the Estimate tab. See Work with Columns for more information.

To open a job in the Manage Estimates screen, click Estimating > Estimating > Manage Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
