Customize Match Parameters

Use the Customize Match Parameters popup window to select the types of matches to search for in the Shape Recognition tab and to set the tolerances for matching images.

The application uses two type of matches: high-confidence match and similar match. A high-confidence match is an image that matches the search image closely and a similar match is an image that shares characteristics with the search image, but not enough for the application to consider it a high-confidence match.

You can set the fill match tolerance, which looks at pixel density, and the point match tolerance, which looks at individual pixels. You can set each tolerance for high-confidence matches and similar matches.

When the application looks for a fill match it checks areas on the plan that are the same size and shape as the image to be matched for pixel density. It calculates the pixel density as follows:

Then the application compares the pixel density of the image on the plan to the pixel density of the image to be matched.

You can set the minimum percentage of the pixel density to be a high-confidence match and the minimum percentage to be a similar match. For example, you could set the minimum percentage for a high-confidence match to 80%. In which case, the application would highlight any image on the plan with a percent match of 80% or more in green.

Once the application has found fill matches, it then it looks for point matches. For point matches, the application compares the images pixel by pixel to determine the percentage of pixels that match. You can set the minimum percentage of matching pixels to be a high-confidence match and the minimum percentage to be a similar match.
