Pay Class screen

Use the Pay Class screen to create categories of workers within a trade or union.

To open the Pay Class screen, click Employees > Setup > Pay Classifications & Rates > Pay Class in the All Tasks pane.

You can use the categories to maintain pay rates and billing rates as well as additional pay, deductions, and fringe benefits. Typically, pay classes represent levels of experience or worker responsibilities. For example, for electrical workers, you might create the following pay classes:

  • Apprentice Year 1

  • Apprentice Year 2

  • Apprentice Year 3

  • Journeyman

  • Foreman

  • General Foreman

Note: The Pay Class screen is a step in the employee setup process. The Compensation Package screen is the next step.
