Add New Paper Plan Using Matchlines screen

Use the Add New Paper Plan Using Matchlines screen to add paper plans to a job and align them using matchlines. Drawings that use matchlines are drawings that have overlapping features on each drawing. This means each drawing must include features that appear on other drawings of the job. This overlapping helps you put the drawings together to form one large drawing.

To use matchlines to connect multiple drawings, you use reference points. A reference point can be any point on a drawing that appears on both drawings you want to connect. You need a minimum of two reference points on the first drawing that match the same two reference points on the second drawing. The drawings can be rotated differently or have different drawing scales, but the reference points must be the same.

For example, you have two drawings that make up a single job and both drawings show the same existing building. You could use two corners of the building as reference points in drawing one and use the same building corners as reference points in drawing two.

Use the following procedure to add additional paper plans and align them using matchlines. If you are using digital plans, use Adding New Digital Plan Using Matchlines screen to add and align additional digital plans.
