Enter Vendor Lien Notice & Release screen

Use the Enter Vendor Lien Notice & Release screen to manage vendor liens. You can use this screen to do the following:

  • Record a lien notice received from vendor.

  • Record lien releases associated with a lien notice received from vendor.

  • Attach lien notice documents to a lien notice and lien release documents to lien releases.

  • Manage vendor lien notices and releases that were automatically created from the following functions:

    • Enter Purchase Order
    • Create PO from Estimate
    • Enter Subcontract
    • Enter Subcontract Change Order
    • Enter Vendor Invoice
    • Select Vendor Invoices for Payment
  • Create lien releases to send to vendors for their approval.

  • Create a PDF file of a vendor lien release form that you can view, print, or attach to an e-mail. The application automatically attaches the PDF file to its associated record in a binder item.

Tip: You can use the Modify Forms screen to modify the format and layout of this form.

You must have the software required to open a PDF file—such as Adobe Reader—installed on your computer to be able to view it. You can also send an e-mail with the PDF file as an attachment. You must have MAPI-compliant e-mail software—such as Microsoft Outlook—installed on your computer to send an e-mail message with an attachment.

If the auto-create setting in Lien Management Settings for subcontract changes orders is Add to Related Subcontract, then ProContractor adds the amount of the subcontract change order to the existing lien notice for the related subcontract, instead of creating a separate lien notice for the subcontract change order. Use the View Vendor Lien Document Logs screen to find lien notices that are associated with subcontract change orders.

To open the Enter Vendor Lien Notice & Release screen, click Projects > Lien Management > Enter Vendor Lien Notice & Release in the All Tasks pane.
