Voiding a Direct Check

Learn how to void an existing direct check.

  1. On the Site Map, click Cash Management > Data Entry > Void Direct Check.
  2. In the Bank accountfield, enter the bank account code the check was originally charged to or use the drop-down menu to select from a list of available bank accounts.
  3. In the Check # field, enter the number associated with the check to be voided.
  4. In the G/L transaction date field, enter the date that the check is voided, not the actual check date. The date entered in this field will become the G/L date for the void. Once you press Enter, the check's remaining information automatically displays.
  5. Click Save.
  6. When the cursor is in the Bank account code field, click Update. The Void Direct Checks Register screen displays.
  7. In the Bank account code field, enter the account code associated with the voided direct check.
  8. In the Check field, enter the number associated with the voided direct check.
  9. Click Preview. After the reports prints or previews, the Void Direct Checks Update screen displays.
  10. Select Continue to update the voided direct check information to the G/L; otherwise, select Cancel to exit this screen without updating.
  11. Click OK.
