What's New in Viewpoint Analytics 2021 R11
This release introduces two new features to help meet your needs for data insights and data mobility: Dashboards provide in-depth visualizations of your Vista data, and Vista Reports enable you to access your Vista Crystal Reports from the web.
This release also includes some changes to User Management to support the new features. In addition, the existing reporting functionality, which includes Standard Reports, and custom reporting using Project Management data sources, is now referred to as "Team Reporting."
Dashboards
Dashboards in Viewpoint Analytics use Microsoft Power BI* to provide visualizations of key project data enabling you to make data-driven decisions for your enterprise. Dashboards can be filtered in a variety of ways or exported as an .xlsx or .csv file.
The following Dashboards are included in this release:
- The Commitments Dashboard provides summary and detailed information about committed costs for your projects organized by parameters such as company, job, phase, and cost type.
- The Job Cost Detail Dashboard provides both summary and detailed Job Cost information for your projects, including cost, hours, and quantity information for both estimates and projections.
Vista Reports
With Vista Reports, you can easily access your Vista Crystal Reports on the web without opening Vista.
Vista Reports retain your Vista security settings so that you have access only to the reports you can access in Vista. In addition, the data included in Vista Reports is refreshed in real time.
For information on enabling and working with Vista Reports, see Vista Reports.
Team Reporting
With this release, the existing reporting functionality (including Standard Reports, custom reporting functionality with Project Management data sources, and reports saved in the My Reports or Public Reports folders) is now called Team Reporting. Use the Team Reporting tab to access your existing reports.
User Management Updates
With this release, when the Enterprise Admin adds or edits a user to give access to Viewpoint Analytics, there is a new option to select the Analytics Features (Team Reporting, Dashboards, and Vista Reports) the user can access. For example, to give access to the existing reporting functionality, select Team Reporting. Note that the Data Access option is only enabled if a user is given access to Team Reporting.
Dashboards and Vista Reports are available for Vista users only at this time, and require a Viewpoint Analytics license. For information on managing licenses, see About Managing Analytics Licenses.
This release also includes an option to export license data so an Enterprise Admin can view details about how Analytics licenses have been allocated to users. For details, see Export License Data.
