Print the Estimate

The estimate can be printed in two different ways: You can print the estimate the way it is displayed in the Estimate tab or you can print the estimate using the Estimate Reports screen.

By printing the Estimate tab, you can organize columns, filter items in the estimate, and sort items in the estimate so that what you see on the screen is the same as what you print. The print feature enables you to create a custom report that displays only the information you want in the order you want. You can filter the estimate to show only specific cost items. You can also select a column view to print only the columns of information you want. When you print tabs in the Estimating module, you can also enter headers, footers, and orientation for the print out.

For example, you could filter the estimate so that only material items are shown. You could then create a column view that only displays the Description, Quantity, Unit, and Extended Cost of these. You could then print this to use as an ordering list for your suppliers.

When you print the estimate, you first have the option to print the item level detail. Whether you decide to print this report or not, you have the option to print the estimate totals as a separate report.
