Select Levels to Summarize

You can select which WBS codes you want to subtotal in the Summary tab. You can select multiple levels of WBS codes to view. For example, if you use WBS1 for the Phase of the job and WBS2 for the material type, you could show two levels of WBS codes to summarize the job by phase, then break the phase down into material type subtotals.

Once you have selected the levels to view, you can select to view a subset of the selected levels. For example, if you select the two levels from the example above, you can set the Summary tab to show one level or both levels. When fewer levels are shown than are selected, the application shows the top levels, based on the order they are entered on the Summary Criteria window. For example, if you select four levels and show two on the Summary tab, the application shows levels 1 and 2 from the Summary Criteria popup window.

To view data in the Summary tab, you must select at least one of the following checkboxes to specify what data to display:

  • Show estimate

  • Show acceptable alternates

  • Show change orders

The Location column in the Summary tab displays which tab contains the cost item. You can select the columns to view in the Summary tab using the Work with Columns toolbar.

To open a job in the Manage Estimates screen, click Estimating > Estimating > Manage Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
