Move or Rearrange UD Fields on Daily Reports and Field Tickets

Move a user-defined field to a different location or customize the order in which users tab through fields. You can also rearrange how custom fields display in relation to each other in the portal.

For Daily Reports and Field Tickets, custom fields are added to the PMDailyLog form or PMDailyLog subforms (for example, PMDailyLogEmpl) in Vista. You can reposition only the custom fields that were added to the PMDailyLog form (displays as the Info tab in Daily Reports and the General Information tab in Field Tickets). Custom fields added to a grid in PM Daily Logs (a subform such as Employees or Equipment) automatically display as the last column in the related grid and cannot be repositioned.
  1. To move a user-defined field:
    Note: This change affects Vista, Daily Reports, and Field Tickets.
    1. In Vista, select Project Management > Programs > PM Daily Logs.
    2. Select the Info tab.
    3. Right-click on any open area on the form (not in a field), and select Move Custom Fields.

    4. Select and drag the custom field to a different place on the form.
    5. In the right pane with the instructions, select Accept.
  2. To customize the sequence in which users can tab through fields:
    Note: This change affects Vista, Daily Reports, and Field Tickets.
    1. In Vista, select Project Management > Programs > PM Daily Logs.
    2. Select the Info tab.
    3. Right-click an open area on the form (not in an active field), and select Input Order > Set Order.

    4. Use the up and down arrows in a field to change the order in which the cursor will move when a user tabs through the fields.
    5. In the right pane with the instructions, select Accept.
  3. To rearrange how custom fields display in relation to each other on a specific tab in Daily Reports or Field Tickets:
    Note: This change affects the order of custom fields in Daily Reports and Field Tickets only, not Vista. The order in which custom fields display in relation to default fields cannot be changed.
    1. In Vista, select Project Management > Programs > PM Daily Logs.
    2. Select the relevant tab.
    3. Select the field that you want to rearrange in the portal, and press F3 to open Field Properties.
    4. Select the System Overrides tab.
    5. Locate the Status Text field, and enter the number to indicate the order in which this field should display on the relevant tab in Daily Reports or Field Tickets in relation to other custom fields. For example, if you have custom fields on the Subcontractors tab called Rental Rate and Units, and you want Units to show before Rental Rate:
      • For Units, enter a 1 in Status Text.
      • For Rental Rate, enter a 2 in Status Text.
  4. Refresh synonyms in the portal by selecting Admin > Portal Settings and then select the Refresh Synonyms button.
    Tip: Refresh synonyms during off-peak hours at your company. The portal may be unavailable for a few minutes during the refresh. After this process is finished, you may need to log out of the portal and then sign in again to see the changes.
  5. In the portal, navigate to Field Tools > Daily Reports or Field Tools > Field Ticket Dashboard, and open either a daily report or field ticket to verify that custom fields display in the desired order.
