What's New in 2021 R4

What's New lists the enhancements and changes made in the 21.04 release. This release is available as of 4/14/2021. Android users can download the mobile app the same day as its release. For iOS users, apps take 24 to 48 hours following the release date to become available in the App Store.

General Information

Important: Please be advised that test and live versions of portal websites must have an SSL certificate applied as of the 2021 R6 release in June. If you update to the R6 release without having an SSL certificate applied, you will not be able to access your portal. For help, see How to Apply an SSL Certificate to Your Portal.
  • How to Update Modules

    • Customers hosted in a Viewpoint cloud solution receive the latest update automatically. For customers who update modules manually, see Update the Portal for help.

  • Application Help now available on Viewpoint Help

    • A beta version of Help for HR Management, Financial Controls, Field Management, and Vista Field Service is now accessible from Viewpoint Help. You can explore this version of Help to get familiar with the new content structure, search capabilities, and other options provided by Viewpoint Help. This content remains under construction but will replace the current Help site in a future release.

  • Benefits

    • A red highlight no longer displays around amount-based benefit codes that are less than one.

Financial Controls Highlights

  • Progress Billing

    • When creating bills, the Contract field displays as a search field instead of a dropdown for contracts with over 100 bills.

  • Purchase Orders

    • Added new portal setting: Default Unit of Measure override for Purchase Orders (Admin > Portal Settings > Show Advanced Settings (top of page) > Purchase Orders > Advanced Configuration). Use this setting to enter the Unit Of Measure that should be defaulted on new Purchase Order, PO Requisition, and Pending PO lines. This will override the current default UM that is set up in Vista.

Field Management Highlights

  • Mobile Application

    • Significant performance improvements were made to cloning operations for job line types.

    • When entering service time, the SM Work Order number and Scope number now display on the Scope tab.

  • Field Tickets

    • Field Management Field Tickets are now integrated with the Vista JC Field Tickets table and Field Ticket fields in PR Timecard Entry and JC Field Tickets. This allows customers on Vista 2020 R2 or later to use JB Bill Initialization to create bills for field tickets.

      • Additional fields relevant to the field ticket integration will be added to Vista in a future release. Please see the What's New pages in Vista Help for updates.

    • General UI enhancements were made to the Field Ticket report.

Vista Field Service Highlights

Note: Work order trips with a status of Open or Closed are hidden from the Work Order Dashboard. This ensures that technicians see only those work orders that are ready for service
  • New Work Order History and Service Item(s) buttons are now available on the Work Order screen. These two buttons replace the Site Details button previously available for work orders.
    • Use the Service Item(s) button to view, search for, or add new service items.

    • Use the Work Order History button to view past work orders for the site.

  • New portal setting added to show trip notes instead of scope notes when technicians complete a service trip: Show SM Trip notes on the completion screen instead of SM Scope notes (Admin > Portal Settings > Field Service > General Configuration).

  • A default pay type is now selected for technicians when they clock in from the Work Order page (clock-in feature requires Enable Clock-In to be configured in Admin > Portal Settings > Field Service > General Configuration).

  • Technician start and stop times will now use 24-hour time format if Enable in-line start/stop military time and overnight entry has been enabled for your portal (Admin > Portal Settings > Timecard > General Configuration).
