Update Field Time Configurations

Run the Field Time installation on your database server. After the installation, you will be prompted to configure the database server and application environments.

  1. Review the Installation Prerequisites to ensure that you completed all steps.
  2. Download the Installation Executables from the Viewpoint Customer Portal.
These instructions apply to self-hosted version of Field Time. If you have Field Time Console hosted through Viewpoint for Cloud (VFC) or Viewpoint Enterprise Cloud (VEC), Viewpoint handles your upgrade process.
  1. Locate the Field Time Setup.exe file that you downloaded from the Viewpoint Customer Portal.
  2. Run the Field Time Setup.exe file on your Field Time database server.
  3. In the Field Time Setup - InstallShield Wizard, click Next.
  4. Click Install.
    The installation may take a few minutes.
  5. At the end of the installation, click Launch Field Time Setup in the InstallShield Wizard.
  6. Click Finish.
    The Viewpoint - Field Time Install Configuration Information screen appears, showing information previously entered.
  7. In the I know the backoffice SQL Credentials field, enter the back office SQL user name.
  8. Enter the Back Office Password and confirm it.
  9. Complete the remaining required fields.
    Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). Most of the information populates from the previous configuration. For field descriptions, see Environment Configuration Settings and MFM Application Configuration Settings.
    Note: To modify configuration settings at a later time, launch the configuration file from this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Viewpoint Construction Software\MFM\Setup\VCS.MFM.Config.exe.
  10. Complete all other fields for which you have information.
  11. When you are finished, click Save.
The system attempts to connect to the database, If it does, you will receive a confirmation message. For new installations, you must set up and configure the database before you can connect to it.

If applicable, restart Citrix before allowing users to log on.
