What's New in Field View 2023 R3

With the second Viewpoint Field View™ release of 2023, we bring to you the long-awaited issue tasks to specific users rather than the entire organisation. In addition, we’re shifting our customer support focus to iOS 14 and Android 7.1 or higher.

A list of planned web and mobile fixes is also available.

Installation Updates

In order to continue getting new versions of Field View, users must have iOS 14 or Android 7.1 or higher. Though updates have previously been available for mobile users on older versions of iOS and Android, this will no longer be allowed starting with Field View R6 in June 2023.

We strongly suggest that you explore your upgrade options as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and timely transition.

Issue Task to User

We released the functionality that will allow a project administrator or system admin to edit a task type to allow a task to be issued to a specific user. This will increase accountability of the work being performed, as well as help with reporting.

The project communication plan was also updated to allow notification options for individual tasks for new, closed, and complete tasks. Both individuals and organisations can set notification options.

New columns in the communication plan:
  • New Tasks Issued to Me
  • Recently Closed Tasks Issued to Me
  • Recently Completed tasks Issued to Me

Other columns have been updated to reflect that a task is related to the organisation.

A mobile user will be able to click the Assigned to icon on the application to see tasks assigned only to them. The user will still see forms and assets that are assigned to the organization. This will simplify the filter use.

It’s important to have the latest version of Field View on your device in order to use this enhancement. Older versions of Field View may not recognize this field and will lead to mandatory tasks being invalidated.
