Enable Local Brava Mode

Design Teams, consultants and specialists collaborating on information using the Brava View and Markup tool can make use of the Local Computer operating mode for PDFs and other supported file types.

This enables an initial full download of the document, with a desktop-focused interface for detailed markup creation. This may be preferred over the ‘Online Server’ mode, which streams pages and sections of the document on-demand, and has a more mobile-friendly interface.

The following file types are compatible with local mode:

  • PDF
  • TIFF
  • BMP
  • JPG
  • PNG
  • GIF
Note: All other file types that can be opened in Brava (for example: Word, Excel, DWG, etc) will open automatically in Online Server mode with no option to toggle to local mode.

  1. Navigate to the document you want to mark up, right-click on the mouse icon , and select View and Markup.
The Brava Viewer opens, displaying the document.
  2. In the Brava side panel for markups, under Rendering Mode, select the Local Computer check box.
The Brava Viewer opens, displaying the document in local, computer-rendering mode.
  3. Click Annotate.
The Markup toolbar is displayed, displaying available markup icons.
  4. Select the desired markup tool from the Markup toolbar.
Markup tools remain active until another tool is selected.
  5. Save, printPublish Markups.
Warning: If you press the ESC key before you save the markup, you will delete the markup.
