The dependents module allows users to modify, add, and remove dependents from HR Resource Dependents in Vista.

Users can update dependents from Employee Tools > Dependents and during an open Enrollment Window.

If a user chooses to delete a dependent, the dependent will be removed from HR Resource Dependents, unless you have configured the Inactive user defined field. See Deactivate Dependents instead of Deleting Them for details.

When a user adds a new dependent, those new dependents are not automatically added to an employee's current benefit elections. However, they may be assigned as unapproved dependents during an open enrollment or qualifying event window. Those assigned to approve (Benefits Admin) will not be able to approve those benefit elections until the dependents have been approved.
