Submittals

A submittal in construction management is a project document used to get specific information or items from a subcontractor, such as shop drawings, material data, product data, and samples (carpet, paint, flooring, etc.).

The project manager creates a submittal to request information or items related to the project and sends it to the subcontractor.

You can create a submittal in Viewpoint Team™ to record the details of the submittal, attach files, send it to the subcontractor, and move and track it through the review and approval process.

You can set a number of defaults for submittals in the project settings. You can set the following:
  • Automatically number submittals based on project number, project and type, or project and spec section.
  • Set default contacts to review and approve submittals.
  • Set the default number of days to submit, review, and approve a submittal.
