Import a Project from your ERP

If your enterprise is integrated with your ERP system, you can import an existing project from that ERP to manage it in Viewpoint Team™.

You can only import open or pending projects from Vista. Closed projects are not available for import.
  1. From the home page, in the Projects section, click the Add button , and then select New Project from Vista/Spectrum/Jobpac.
Note: Alternatively, click in the upper left-hand corner, click Projects > > New Project from Vista/Spectrum/Jobpac.
The Choose Vista/Spectrum/Jobpac Project dialog box appears.
  2. If you have more than one enterprise, select an enterprise, and then select a business unit to filter the list of available projects by business unit.
  3. Enter part or all of the project number or name, and then click the search icon .
A list of available projects appears.
  4. From the list, click on the project you want to import into Team, and then click Next.
The Confirm Project Selection window appears.
  5. (Optional) If you have set up project types, from the Type drop-down menu, you can select a type for this project.
  6. Tip: By default, selecting Copy settings from project copies all available settings. Click the Show more options link to select individual settings you want copied from the existing project.
(Optional) If you want to copy basic project settings from an existing project (for example, for notifications, views, work item defaults, and status codes), click Copy settings from project, and then select a project from the drop-down menu.
Note: Only settings that are not specific to contacts are copied to the new project. For example, for Submittal settings, if default review days are specified, that setting would be copied. But if a default reviewer is specified, that setting would not be copied.

Settings from the General tab on the Project Settings page are not copied to the new project. Nor are files and records, customized discipline codes, distribution groups, or document folder structure.

  7. (Optional) In the Project Editor field, select the project editor for the project.
The project editor can edit and manage the project team, project documents, and project communication. The project editor receives an email invitation to the project when it is created. You can add additional people to the project later.
  8. Click Confirm.
The project is added to Team and opens to the project dashboard page.
