What's New in 2018-R3

The third release for 2018 launches Daily Logs. Additional enhancements around document markup, register columns and role based permissions round out the release.

Daily Logs

Daily Logs can be hard to track and time consuming to enforce. Available for the web – followed shortly by mobile – Project Editors can configure and assign Daily Logs to crews and Subcontractors.

Capture a complete record of everything that occurred on the job site to settle disputes and provide supporting evidence in the event of litigation, overbilling, weather related schedule impacts and more. Automated weather capture and Firms/Contacts integration make report completion faster and easier for busy job site personnel.

Calendar view for the office
  • Easily identify days that are missing reports
  • A summary of people on site and total hours worked
  • Days with accidents and weather delays are flagged
  • Tailor required sections for Contractor vs Subcontractor logs.
Report details view for the field
  • Automatic weather capture and free-form weather notes
  • Work, Equipment & Call logs
  • Accident, Delivery & Visitor capture
  • Note Issues, Concerns and Quality/Safety Observation
  • Attach progress photos and documents.

Unlike paper or Excel logs which are easily lost or stored in silos, Viewpoint Team serves as an archive of easily retrievable information.

For details, see Daily Logs.

Documents Enhancements

  • Edit folder names. Update folder names via the edit icon on the main documents page. For instructions, see Edit a Folder Name.
  • Markup controls. When viewing a PDF, page and zoom controls have been moved to the bottom of the page to make room for additional markup tools in upcoming releases.

Additional register columns for Submittals

This release adds new column options for the Submittals page to easily identify sent dates. For details on configuring columns, see Change the Columns for the List of Work Items.

Expanded permissions for Project Editors

Project Editors have been granted permission to modify project settings. The ability to add or delete projects is reserved exclusively for Project Administrators. For details on project settings, see Project Settings.
