Field Definitions: GL Fiscal Years Form

The following is a list of field descriptions for the GL Fiscal Years form. Many of the descriptions include links to other topics that provide additional information about or related to the topic.

Fiscal Year Ending Month

Fiscal Year Ending Month field on the GL Fiscal Years form.

Specify the month on which this fiscal year ends. Fiscal years cannot be changed or deleted if balances and budgets exist.

Fiscal Year for Management Reporter

Fiscal Year for Management Report field on the GL Fiscal Years form.

Enter a unique year to be used as the fiscal year for Management Reporter, in YYYY format (i.e. 2002).

This will typically be the same year as the Fiscal Year Ending Month; however, if you have multiple fiscal years within the same year (i.e. split years), you will need to use a unique number for the additional fiscal periods, as required by Management Reporter. Make sure you use a number that will help you identify the fiscal year but won't run the risk of interfering with another fiscal year. One suggestion would be to add a unique first digit, with the remaining digits the same as the fiscal year.

For example, if your fiscal year currently runs from June to June, but you want to change it to run January to December, you might set up your fiscal years something like this:

First Entry:

Fiscal Year Ending Month:06/07

Beginning Month: 07/06

Fiscal Year for Management Reporter: 2007

Second Entry:

Fiscal Year Ending Month:12/07

Beginning Month: 07/07

Fiscal Year for Management Reporter: 9007
