Allow Exceeded Claim Entry

This box applies to the SL Subcontract Claims form. Click here for an overview on processing claims.

Check this box if users should be able to enter a claim amount that is greater than the current subcontract amount using the SL Subcontract Claims form.
Note:

When this box is not checked, a validation error will display if the value in the Claim Amount field (SL Subcontract Claims> Items tab) is greater than the current subcontract amount. You can view the current contract amount using the upper portion of the SL Subcontract Claims form.

Even when this box is not checked, users will be able to create claims that are greater than the current subcontract amount in two ways:

  • Users can enter an approved amount that is greater than the current subcontract amount using the Approve Amount field (SL Subcontract Claims> Items tab). The approve amount is the amount that is sent to the AP module.
  • The system only validates that the Claim Amount field is less than the current subcontract amount, not the Claim To Date Amount field. This means that if you have several claims on a subcontract, the total of those claims can exceed the current subcontract amount.
