About Unused Long Service Leave Payments

There are three types of unused long service leave payments that you may need to make to your employees.

These are:
  • Normal termination, payment for leave dates prior to 18 Aug 1993,
  • normal termination, payment for leave accrual dates after 17 Aug 1993, and
  • termination because of genuine redundancy, invalidity, or early retirement.
You must create earnings codes for all three types, along with corresponding deduction codes for taxation purposes:
