Use filing status S, M, B, or H.

S = Single claiming all exemptions, or Married filing separately claiming all exemptions and not living with spouse.

M = Married filing jointly claiming all exemptions, or Head of Household claiming all exemptions.

B = Married filing jointly, claiming half of the exemptions, or Married filing separately claiming all exemptions and living with spouse.

H = Single, Married, or Head of Household, claiming no exemptions.

Regular exemptions = number of dependents.

Additional exemptions = number of allowances.

Misc Factor = 1 if married, living with spouse, and filing separately. Otherwise, enter 0.

Exemptions for veterans: Check the Override Misc Amount #1 box and enter the veteran's annual personal exemption amount plus the annual special deduction amount (if any) in the Misc Amount #1 field.

Puerto Rico*

PR Employee Dedns/Liabs

Employees who earn less than $20,000.00 annually are not subject to annual withholding. However, if they elect to take withholding, and fill out Form 499 R-4.1, you will need to override the employee deduction with a flat amount or percentage (select the Override with a Fixed Amount calculation option and enter the amount/percentage in the Rate / Amount field).

Set up as an employee-based deduction. Select the Use Calculated Amount option (Calculations).
