When you set up revenue rates (in EM Revenue Rates by Category or EM Revenue Rates by Equipment), you have the option to allow posting work units with usage by checking the ‘Work Units with Usage’ option for each applicable revenue code.

If this flag is checked and you specify the revenue code on a usage transaction, the ‘Work Units’ field is enabled for the transaction, allowing you to enter the work units as necessary (e.g. the number of yards of material hauled). The unit of measure in which the work units will be stored (specified in EM Revenue Rates by Equipment or EM Revenue Rates by Category) displays in the Work U/M field.
