About the EM Fuel Posting Form

Use this form to enter individual fuel usage transactions.

You will typically use this program if you prefer the more traditional method of entering transactions rather than initializing a group of transactions based on a set of criteria (as in EM Fuel Initialize).

One of the advantages to using this program is that it provides much more flexibility. Because entries are not initialized based on certain criteria, it is easier to enter transactions for the equipment you want. In addition, although most of the data defaults based on information entered for the equipment (in EM Equipment), you have the ability to override it as necessary.

The informational display (top of form) shows the current hours and odometer readings for the equipment entered on the transaction. As you enter the new odometer and hour readings, it will also show the difference between the new and current readings for the equipment.

Note: Updates to the equipment’s odometer, hour meter, and meter reading dates (in EM Equipment) will depend on the update option selected for fuel posting in EM Company Parameters (Updates tab). For more information about the update options, see Meter Updates: Equipment Usage, Meter Updates: Costs Adj and Parts Posting, and Meter Updates: Fuel Posting. Tasks

Enter Fuel Usage

Initialize Fuel Usage Transactions

  • Initialization - Select File > Fuel Posting Initialize to initialize fuel usage transactions. After you have completed initialization, you can edit the transactions in this form. More
  • Updates to Odometers, Hour Meters, and Reading Dates - When posting fuel usage, updates to the equipment’s odometer, hour meter, and meter reading dates (in EM Equipment) will depend on the update option selected for fuel posting in EM Company Parameters (Updates tab). For more information about the update options, see Meter Updates: Equipment Usage, Meter Updates: Costs Adj and Parts Posting, and Meter Updates: Fuel Posting. Once you are finished with entering or modifying usage transactions, process the batch as normal using EM Batch Process (accessed by selecting the Process Batch option, File menu).
