Mapping Containers to VFP

Viewpoint For Projects™ integration allows you to manage the publication of Vista Project Management Word or PDF documents (for example, RFIs, Change Orders, and so on) to the web-based, collaborative workspace provided by Viewpoint For Projects™.

Prior to publishing to Viewpoint For Projects™, you must ensure that document categories are successfully mapped to your containers.

The following details how to select the project to associate your Vista documents with and then map a document category to a container.

  1. Open the PM Projects form.
  2. In the Project field, enter the project to work with or press F4 to select from a list of valid projects.
  3. On the Info tab, in the Viewpoint for Project Collaboration section, click the Project Select button.
  4. Select the correct project to associate your Vista documents with.
  5. Click OK.
  6. In the Viewpoint for Project Collaboration section, click the Map Document Categories to Containers Select button.
  7. In the PM Document Mapping for VPC form, select the appropriate document category from the Document Category pull-down list.
  8. Click the Select Container button to select the Viewpoint For Projects™ container to map to. On the Select Container To Associate form, select the appropriate container, and click OK . (The selected container will then populate the Container field in the PM Document Mapping for VPC form.)
  9. On the Info tab, under Document Source, select whether you want to:
    • Use a Word Doc Template or Report

      Note: Select Report to publish a PM document as a report instead of a template, in an instance where you want to use the report as a collaborating document, or if a Word template does not exist for a particular PM document.
    • Publish as PDF (versus a Word document)

    • Include Attachments

    • Collate to a Single Document (PDF only).

  10. Click the Save icon to save your changes.
    Note: If you want to create Document Containers in Viewpoint For Projects™based on the Vista document categories, click the Auto Create Containers by Document Category Go button.
