SM Technician Preferences Form

Use the SM Technician Preferences form to set up technician preferences for a customer and/or service.

Access this form by clicking Advanced (below the Primary Technician field) in SM Customers or SM Service Sites.Technician preferences allow you to define the technicians that are authorized to performed service work for a customer and/or service site, as well as those that are not. For each technician set up here, you will assign one of the following statuses:

  • A-Alternate — Use this status for technicians that are authorized to perform service work for the service site and/or customer. Technicians with this status will generally be used when the primary technician assigned to the service site (in SM Service Sites) or customer (in SM Customers) is not available.

  • D-Do Not Use — Assign this status to technicians that are not authorized to perform service work for the service site and/or customer. You might generally use this status for technicians that the customer or service site has complained about, or for technicians that do not have the skills to perform the type of service work requested by the customer/service site.

Note: Technician preferences defined for a service site will override those defined for a customer.
