Adding Menu Items to Folder Templates

When you create folder templates in VA Menu Templates, use the Menu Items tab to specify the menu items to display in the folder.

You can choose to add either forms or reports to the template, as well as specify the order in which they display in the folder.

To add menu items to folder templates:

  1. Create the folder template. See Creating and Managing Folder Templates or Creating Templates Based on Subfolders.
  2. On the Menu Items tab, select either F-Form or R-Report from the Item Type drop-down.
  3. Enter the name of the form or the report ID in the Item field. Press F4 to see a list of forms or reports. The system displays the title of the form or report in the Title field.
    Note: When you press F4, the system displays either forms or reports depending on the selection you made in the Item Type drop-down.
  4. Enter the display sequence for the item in the MenuSeq field.
    Tip: To make it easier to add additional items to your folder template, enter the display sequence in increments. For example, you might enter the first item with a sequence of 10, the next one with a sequence of 20, and so on. This allows you to easily add items to the middle of your sequence without having to renumber each item.
  5. Save the record.
