Report Scheduling

Reports can now be scheduled for email delivery. The Report Administration option will take you to the Pentaho User Console. From here, you can schedule reports.

Best Practices for Report Scheduling

The email server is a shared resource among you and other Spectrum companies. The following are important points to keep in mind as you utilize this service.

  • We recommend that only a few select staff have the ability to schedule reports. To prevent the same report being scheduled multiple times each night, it is important that one or two people manage all subscriptions for your company.
  • Do not use Seconds, Minutes, or Hours as a Recurrence Interval. Doing so will consume resources and prevent your other scheduled reports and those of other Spectrum companies from completing.
    Important: Failure to heed this warning will result in your organizations loss of email privileges in Spectrum Business Intelligence.
  • You cannot schedule dashboard reports. The system will prevent scheduling dashboard reports. Instead, schedule the analysis or interactive reports.
  • The output of scheduled reports will be deleted automatically after 180 days. Each scheduled report writes a copy to your user or company folder before it is emailed out. These PDF, Excel or CSV file will be automatically deleted on a regular schedule after 180 days.
