Bulk Create Employee Kiosk Operators in Spectrum

Create Employee Kiosk logons for your employee users to connect their employee record to a Spectrum operator record. Doing this enables the security privileges that these users will need to access Employee Self-Service.

You must be a Spectrum administrator to perform this task.
Note: This is step 3 in the process to Invite Employees to Employee Self-Service. Before continuing, be sure to complete step 2, Create an Employee Kiosk User Template.
Important: You do not need to send employee users their login credentials for Employee Kiosk. Instead, they will create their own login and password for Trimble Construction One later on in the invitation process.
  1. In Spectrum, select System Administration > Security > Create Employee Logons.

The Create Employee Logons window opens. This tool automatically finds active employees who do not have a Spectrum operator record and generates that record for them. You will have the opportunity to review all pertinent information before finalizing new users.

  2. Use the Selection criteria options to create logons in groups. This allows for a more controlled process for companies with many employees.
  3. In the Copy from logon ID field, select the logon ID for your EK user template. See Create an Employee Kiosk User Template for help setting up the Employee Kiosk user template.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. A new page opens, showing a list of proposed new operators (employees who fit your selection criteria in the previous screen). Review these proposed new records, particularly the information highlighted in the following sample.

    • Proposed password: Ignore this password. Employees will create their own password when they receive the invitation to Trimble Construction One.
    • Work e-mail address: Shows the work email address that was migrated from the employee file. This field may be edited as needed.
    • Update status: Spectrum validates information pulled from the employee file and displays a message to indicate whether the new operator record can be created:
      • Error: The record is not ready to be updated. Most likely, information is missing from the record or the employee needs a unique email account.

      • Ready to create: No problems were found. The record is ready to be updated.

  6. After reviewing the proposed operator records and making all necessary changes, select the Update button in the upper left of the screen to create the new Spectrum operators.
