Login Auditing

The following table provides descriptions for the fields shown on the Login Auditing page.

Select the PR company whose login events you want to view.

Currently Logged in Users

Shows all users currently logged in, the login date and time, and the IP address.

Field Description
Employee number and Employee Name The name and number for the logged-in user.
Login Date The current date and time of login.
Session Expires The date and time at which the user's session expires. By default, the portal allows users to remain logged in for 24 hours before forcing a logout.
Login Method The method that the employee used to log in to the portal at the given date and time. Login methods include the following:
  • Employee = Employee number login
  • Windows = Windows Auth Login
  • VPID = Viewpoint ID Login
  • Named Login = Named Login Users
  • SSO = SSO Login
  • Mobile = Mobile Login
IP Address The Internet Protocol Address assigned to the device used to log in.

Failed User Login Attempts

Shows all login attempts for all employees in the selected PR company.
Note: This area shows only failed login attempts, not locked-out users. To view locked-out users, select Admin > User Access, and then filter by locked-out employees. See User Access Fields for more details.
Field Description
User Name The name in Vista's PR Employees that is associated with the login credentials used.
Employee and Windows Login Show either the Employee number or Windows Login username that was used during the attempted login.
Login Method The method that the employee used to log in to the portal at the given date and time. Login methods include the following:
  • Employee = Employee number login
  • Windows = Windows Auth Login
  • VPID = Viewpoint ID Login
  • Named Login = Named Login Users
  • SSO = SSO Login
  • Mobile = Mobile Login
Audit Time Time and date at which the attempted login occurred.
IP Address The Internet Protocol Address assigned to the device used to log in. Use the IP Address to determine the device on which the failed login attempt occurred.

Search Events By Employee

Shows the last 10 successful logins for the selected employee. Employee names are based on the selected PR company.

Field Description
Employee Use to select the employee whose login history or active sessions you want to view.
Login Date Date and time of the login. If a user logs in from another browser or device, an overlapping login session is created.
Logout Date Date and time that the user logged out (before the session expired).
Session Expires Date and time when the user's session expired naturally. By default, the portal allows users to remain logged in for 24 hours before forcing a logout.
Is Logged Out? Indicates whether the user logged out prior to the session expiring. A Yes in this column indicates that the user logged out before the session expired.
Login Method The method that the employee used to log in to the portal at the given date and time. Login methods include the following:
  • Employee = Employee number login
  • Windows = Windows Auth Login
  • VPID = Viewpoint ID Login
  • Named Login = Named Login Users
  • SSO = SSO Login
  • Mobile = Mobile Login
IP Address The Internet Protocol Address assigned to the device used to log in. Use the IP Address to determine the device on which the login occurred.
Active Sessions Shows all currently active sessions for this employee. If an employee logs on across multiple devices or browsers, multiple active sessions may display.
