Job Template Fields

The following table provides descriptions for the fields shown on the Edit Job Template pop-up window.

Access this window by selecting Employee Tools > Job Templates to open the Manage Job Templates page. Then select the Edit button for a template. For help setting up job templates, see Create and Modify Job Templates. Fields with an asterisk are required.

Field Description
Prefill From Existing Job Templates (displays for new templates only) Allows you to prefill information on a new template with entries from an existing template. You can then modify the new template as needed.
Template Name* The name of the template. The name is for internal use only. Applicants do not see this name on the external job posting site.
Job Title* The name of the open job position that you are posting. This name can be changed when creating the job requisition. The Job Title displays on the external job posting site.
Job Category* Allows you to assign a job category to the template. Job categories determine:. Job categories are created in the Hiring Process Builder and determine:
  • Tasks that the applicant must complete in order to submit an application.
  • The applicant tracking stages that recruiters will bsee on the Applicant Detail page.
  • The company associated with the job requisition.

EEO Job Category Allows you to assign an EEO Job category to the template. This dropdown pulls from your PR Occupational Categories in Vista and is for internal use only.
Salary Interval Allows you to select the salary type associated with this Job Requisition (for example, Hourly or Salary).
  • Available options in this dropdown are determined by a VA Custom Field Combo Box in Vista. This combo box must be assigned to the portal setting Show Interval Combo Box from Vista
  • This field is for internal use only unless the portal setting Show Salary Interval on Careers / Job Detail is enabled.
Required Veteran Reviewer(s)
Note: If you are not using Veteran reviewers, you can skip this setting.
Allows you to require that recruiters / recruiting managers select a primary and secondary Veteran Reviewer before posting new job requisitions with this template.
  • This information is not visible to applicants and cannot be edited from the Job Requisition page.
  • This checkbox is selected by default if the portal setting Require Veteran Reviewer on Job Reqs is enabled.
Application Instructions Allows you to enter instructions to applicants on how to apply for the position. On the external job details page, this information displays under the heading Application Instructions and is visible to applicants.
Position Description Allows you to provide details on the available position. On the external job details page, this information displays under the heading Position Description and is visible to applicants.
Requirements Allows you to describe requiremens for the position. Description of requirements for this position. On the external job details page, this information displays under the heading Requirements and is visible to applicants.
Equal Opportunity Employer Allws you to enter details about your company’s or this position’s equal opportunity status. On the external job details page, this information displays under the heading Equal Opportunity Employer and is visible to applicants.
Note: You can create a default statement using the portal setting Default Equal Opportunity Text . Users can still modify this text on the template or on the Job Requisition Detail page.
