Enhancements to the Payroll Time Entry (PTE) mobile app and web portal application.

December 2022

Employees can now be removed from a particular job from within the PTE mobile app, in the Manage Job screen. Just as when adding an employee to a job, removing one affects the current job only.

Note: Check for and delete Timecards first.

If the employee you delete has un-synced Timecard records, they will still sync to the portal the next time an app sync is performed.

April 2022

  • Non-admins (Co. Admins, Dept Mgrs, and PMs) can now bring new jobs, new equipment, and new employees from Spectrum into the portal without requiring a Full Sync by an admin, or even access to Administration.
  • Manual updates are no longer required in the portal to remove inactive employees and equipment. Setting employee or equipment status to 'Inactive' in Spectrum automatically removes them from the job(s) in the portal and the mobile app.
    Note: If a former employee is re-hired (made active again), the projects and jobs which were assigned to them - at the time they were made inactive - are still assigned. You can make any needed changes in the portal.
  • If your organization has the option to exceed your contracted license count, the Project Managers tab now provides an alert message in red at any time that the current number of active managers exceeds that number. The alert calls your attention to the overage in case you want to change the status on any other licenses, and makes it clearer when you should anticipate receiving an invoice to cover the additional license usage.
  • As a usability improvement to help prevent duplicate phases on a job, we've provided a visual indicator to signal that the process of updating phases has already been initiated. Once a user clicks the Update Phases button to sync changes made in Spectrum, the button is greyed out and disabled.
  • A new option in the Company Settings screen prevents timecards from being edited or deleted if they have already been batched and posted to Spectrum. By default, and to match current functionality, the new Disable Edit Timecard When Batched checkbox is not selected.
  • The online Help for Payroll Time Entry is now available on the Viewpoint Help website, help.viewpoint.com.

February 2021

  • The Payroll Time Entry mobile app is enhanced to restrict entering time to the current pay period. This applies to labor, quantities, job clock, equipment time, and add-ons.
  • The Administration screen in the web portal is enhanced with new options to limit time card entry to the current pay period only, and prevent copying the wage code and pay level when copying timecards from one employee to another. You can override the default setting for each job on the Job Setup screen.
  • When new jobs are added in Payroll Time Entry, phases are synced automatically from Spectrum. A warning message appears in the Job Setup tab in the web portal to click the Update Phases button only when phases have changed in Spectrum.

November 2020

  • The Enter Time page in the mobile app is enhanced to display Job-to-Date quantity.
  • The Signature Entry page in the mobile app is enhanced to display the Signature Agreement text entered on the Administration screen.

March 2019

  • The Payroll Time Entry web portal application is enhanced with a new Cloud Sync Configuration screen for PTE Admins. The Cloud Sync Configuration screen contains tabs for selecting companies for your tenant, appropriate equipment statuses, cost categories, and add-ons for your companies, and then syncs these selections from Spectrum to the PTE server.
