Configure Vista Settings for Applicant Tracking

Certain dropdowns in Applicant Tracking are associated with VA Custom Field Combo Boxes created in Vista.

Before you can use Applicant Tracking, a System Admin must create these combo boxes in Vista and assign them to the appropriate portal settings in the HR Management web application. Keep in mind that you must enter the exact name for each combo box in the corresponding portal setting. To help make this process easier, use simple combo box names.
Note: You must have access to VA Custom Field Combo Boxes in Vista and be a System Admin in order to complete the following steps.
  1. In Vista:
    1. Select Viewpoint Administration > Programs > VA Custom Field Combo Boxes.
    2. Create a Combo Box for the options to make available to recruiters for disqualifying an applicant (for example, Not Qualified, Poor Interview).
    3. Create a Combo Box for the options that applicants can select in response to how they heard about the position (for example, Online, Friend, Job Fair).
Applicants are asked to provide this information when they enter their personal information as part of the job application process.
    4. Create a Combo Box for the different salary intervals (for example, Hourly, Salary, Part-time) that recruiters or recruiting managers can assign to job requisitions.
A salary interval must be assigned when creating a job requisition.
  2. In HR Management:
    1. Select Admin > Portal Settings > Onboarding / ATS > ATS.
    2. In Disposition Reason Combo Type, enter the name of the Combo Box with the options for disqualifying an applicant.
    3. In Contact Source Combo Box from Vista, enter the name of the Combo Box with the options applicants may select in response to how they heard about the position.
    4. In Salary Interval Combo Box from Vista, enter the name of the Combo Box with options for salary intervals.
Note: Applicants can view the assigned salary interval your external careers page if you enable the portal setting Show Salary Interval on Careers / Job Detail.
After you have completed the Applicant Tracking Vista configuration, complete the Applicant Tracking module configuration in HR Management.
