Project protocols define the roles, stages, and deliverables for a project that uses BIM.

An administrator with access to the Configure Project Protocols function defines project protocols. Viewpoint For Projects™ then displays protocol information in the Information Planner and Project Guidance tabs of the BIM Home page and uses the information to reflect the status of the project at any given point. For example, you can see what deliverables are due in stage 2, when they are due, and if they are on target.

You can also define project protocols to enforce particular standards for a project, such as the use of a specific document naming convention.
